STUDIO MUUS is an integrated design & project management studio based in South Devon, we design whole spaces - combining architectural services, structural & technical design and interior schemes including art & furniture.

Working in tandem with our delivery team MU WORKSHOP we offer a cost effective route to thoughtfully designed, high quality, eco-conscious buildings & structures. We design & build woodland cabins, garden studios, annexes, retreats, treehouses – natural, inspiring spaces which help us reconnect the inner & outer landscape.

We work in 3D, taking clients from first ideas, through design development, technical design & engineering to construction drawings. Our building kits are pre-fabricated off-site in our Devon workshop meaning quick install times and minimal disruption. We take them right through to interior fit out - forming a holistic & creative approach to each clients brief.

For smaller projects we do everything in-house. For larger & more involved schemes we act as specialists as part of a wider team of architects & engineers and other professionals offering technical design & support throughout the design process.

Our core team members have been designing, making & fitting out timber buildings for over 25 years. Our expertise spans from contemporary structures and modern timber engineering techniques - often traversing the use of glulams, freshsawn timber and bespoke steel solutions - to joinery, furniture making & traditional peg-jointed oak frames.

FIT-OUT, INTERIORS & ART

The aesthetics, functionality and emotional impact of the interior space are key considerations for specification from the outset. In small spaces the interior design scheme is driven by the visible structure, detailing & material choices rather than finishes & fixtures chosen later down the line. The use of space is key and often requires built-in furniture, storage & functionality - something which is easier and more cost & space efficient to design in to the structure rather than think about post-construction. We put a lot of energy into planning these things right from the outset & this is where the 3D visuals and an integrated design & make team is beneficial.
